Last week, roots reggae musician Matisyahu dropped the Hold the Fire Acoustic EP and yes as the name suggests these are stripped down acoustic versions of the songs on the EP by the same name. This acoustic EP also features collaborator Adam Weinberg. A very poetic and poignant song for the times we’re living in. Little Feat’s story is one of longevity, an incredible catalogue of tunes, and excellent musicianship. The latest incarnation of the band, might be the closest we’ve heard since the band was formed back in 1969 by Lowell George, Billy Payne, Richie Hayward and Roy Estrada. The current line up is on tour most of the spring well into the summer, and they’re releasing an album full of blues covers and a few originals entitled Sam’s Place featuring percussionist turned vocalist Sam Clayton May 17th....

We’ve waited five years for noted singer songwriter Cris Jacobs to release new music. Fortunately his latest effort “One of These Days” is now available wherever you buy and listen to music and it’s one of my favourites of the year so far. Amongst the jam bands that seem like they are always on the road are The Kitchen Dwellers. The Montana based quartet are part bluegrass or even jamgrass and part psychedelia.
