The Sound Podcast Nominated For Outstanding Music Series In the 2nd Annual Canadian Podcast Awards

TORONTO, CANADA — January 7, 2019 – The Sound Podcast announced today that it has been nominated for PODCAMP TORONTO’s second annual CANADIAN PODCAST AWARDS celebrating outstanding podcasts produced by Canadian podcasters, editors, and producers.

In 2016 Ira Haberman and his team launched The Sound Podcast as a platform to bring the musicians and community members of the Jam Band scene closer to their audience with intimate interviews and choice music selections. Now its second season, The Sound Podcast has produced 166 episodes and continues to grow well beyond its creators expectations.

“Nominees like The Sound Podcast exemplify the wealth of talent we have here in Canada and reflect the unique attitudes, opinions, ideas, values, and creativity of Canadians,” said John Leschinski, Chair of Podcamp Toronto. “We had over 200 entries this year from across the country — it’s really an incredible achievement to be selected by your peers in the Canadian podcasting community.”

“We are absolutely thrilled about this nomination. I am a firm believer in the power of the podcast and have been preaching that notion for at least a decade, if not longer. We are so proud to be part of the Canadian podcasting community and are honoured to be nominated in the Outstanding Music Series category. Our nomination is as much for the musicians and community of people around the world that listen to this proudly Canadian based podcast as it is for the team of people that put it together.” Said Ira Haberman, Host and Executive Producer of The Sound Podcast. “We will continue to always be listening for the secret, and searching for the sound.”

Winners will be announced at an awards party sponsored by Girth Radio in Toronto on February 23, 2019 at the Pacific Junction Hotel, as part of the 13th Annual Podcamp Toronto un-conference running from February 22-24, 2019.
